Lots of works in progress, but no photos...I plain ran out of time. I am looking forward to a nice, carefree weekend with Fatty and the girls. I am hoping for a trip to the yarn store and some crafting and some cleaning. Here is another belt I made this week...this one is for me. Have a great weekend!
I am notorious for putting things off until the absolute last minute - especially things I dislike. A good example is paying the bills (who likes doing that?) Two days ago I pulled out my checkbook to get the job done and noticed a small rip in it. Well, I needed a new checkbook cover, didn't I? (Oh come on, I really did) So I made this new checkbook cover and got a little side tracked and, ahem, the bills still aren't paid.
I will get to it today, though. That is just as soon as I finish this post and fold the laundry and drive Jane's friend home and make dinner and ...
It was Kate's first day back at preschool. Did you hear that sigh of relief? She was excited and ready to go and I was excited and ready, too. It was nice to have the morning to myself. I went to the grocery unaccompanied (!!!!) and had coffee with a friend. Soooo nice. Kate had fun, too. She came home reporting that she is the line leader for the WHOLE week - apparently a very big job. Looks like we are both off to a good start.
Today is also my nephew Miles's 2nd birthday. Here is the t-shirt I appliqued for him. I had the idea in my head for a long time and am happy to report that it came out better than I had hoped. Happy Birthday Sweet Miles!
Drawing with sidewalk chalk is one of the girls' favorite pass times. I love it, too. The large scale of the drawings and their fuzzy features make me smile. I like the black background of the asphalt and the pale colors of the chalk. I discover more mermaids, monsters, and made-up creatures on the driveway than I do on paper. Yesterday there was even a picture of the house on hill road. There are more masterpieces to create before the rain comes. Enjoy your Saturday.
I couldn't wait any longer so I started cutting up my new fabric. I didn't have any specific projects in mind when I bought it, but because I had so much fun making my mom's belt, I decided to make another. With the cooler, breezy fall-ish weather we are having today, this color combination seemed to speak to me. I am looking forward to seeing how it turns out.
Here is another photo that made me smile. I don't know why, but this pile of scraps just makes me happy. Maybe it's all those zig-zag edges from the pinking shears...
